API Information
Overview
The LightBox EPA Sites API provides access to spatial and attribute data for Superfund and Brownfield sites sourced from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Superfund sites include locations addressed under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), while Brownfield sites represent properties where the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants may complicate reuse or redevelopment. Through the API, developers and analysts can identify sites of environmental concern, evaluate their proximity to properties and areas of interest, and integrate EPA site information into due diligence, risk assessment, site selection, land development, and geospatial workflows.
