Overview

The LightBox FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) API provides access to flood hazard information sourced from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The NFHL contains effective flood hazard information used by FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), including flood zone designations, Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs), and base flood elevation information where available. Through the API, developers and analysts can evaluate flood exposure for properties and areas of interest and incorporate FEMA flood hazard information into property research, environmental due diligence, insurance and lending analysis, land development, risk assessment, and geospatial workflows.
